Duffy & Guenther, LLP has significant experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation cases, sometimes with bet-the-ranch consequences for the client where the success of the client’s business has depended upon the outcome of the litigation. The firm has successfully concluded litigation matters in courts throughout Northern and Central California, including both state and federal courts, and bankruptcy courts. In addition to its trial court and bankruptcy court practice, the firm has a substantial appellate practice, and has acted as lead counsel in arguments before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the California Courts of Appeal, and the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

The matters on which Duffy & Guenther, LLP has provided representation span a wide variety of industries, ranging from financial institutions, public agencies, contractors and construction professionals, lenders, agricultural concerns, defrauded investors, commercial landlords, trust and estate beneficiaries, and injured individuals. Cases have included representation of the whistleblowers in a $160 million mortgage fraud case, with a successful motion for appointment of a receiver, and then successful motion for appointment of a trustee in bankruptcy; resolution of a large anti-trust and unfair competition case involving a regional business against an international distributor; successful conclusion of an agricultural dispute involving an $80 million annual contract; representation of contractor in $20 million construction defect case; representation of landowners in local and Coastal Commission matters; representation of beneficiaries in a multi-million dollar claim against the former attorney for a trust; and representation of individuals who have suffered life-long injuries as a result of the actions of others.
